What is VAC therapy?

Now in Ukraine, hundreds of people suffer from gunshot wounds and other injuries typical of war. Such injuries are difficult to heal and can lead to infection, sepsis and amputation. NPWT devices (VAC devices) help heal complex wounds; reduce bacterial load, pain syndrome and swelling; increase local blood circulation and stimulate cell proliferation, shortening the rehabilitation period.

Since March 2022, Zvyano together with Belarusian Medical Solidarity Foundation and the Association of Belarusians in Italy “Supolka” has been crowdfunding for the equipment for VAC wound therapy of the Italian manufacturer Eurosets.

After the first campaign in May and June of 2022, the equipment, together with consumables, was delivered to civilian and military hospitals in Chernihiv (1 device), Lviv (2 devices), Kharkiv (2), Truskavets (4), Krapivnytskyi (3), Odesa (1), Kyiv (10).

The second campaign is ongoing. With the collected money, the necessary consumables for the VAC devices have already been purchased in two stages, but the fundraising is not complete.

All the raised funds go to the Italian account of the officially registered Association of Belarusians in Italy “Supolka”. From this account, we purchase equipment from an Italian manufacturer and pay for delivery to Ukraine. In Ukraine, we personally deliver medical equipment to hospitals and hand it over with official documents. All our reporting is public. We will be grateful for any donation!
